Health Share Weekend 2025

Speakers

Andrew Rice was raised in Berrien Springs, MI and was blessed with Adventist Education.  After two years at Andrews University, he completed a BS and MS in biology at Walla Walla University.  Since that time, he has been a lifelong learner and educator through Academic Adventures, a marine biology and island ecology field school he started in 2000.  In addition, he has shared his passion for God and health in a variety of settings including teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Cell Biology, and Plant Biology at the collegiate level.  Contributing content to www.preparingforthetimeoftrouble.com ministry on preparedness and health topics has also been another key mode of sharing with others.  He also presented health topic lectures for a program called Dinner with the Doctor through a local SDA church.  Currently, in addition to homeschooling his two daughters Sydney and Kaya, Andrew teaches Environmental Science for Andrew University online.  In his spare time Andrew loves outdoor activities including long distance trail running with Bella, backpacking, exploring, reading, and doing home improvement projects with his wife Becky.

Becky Rice PT, DPT, CMP was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota.  She completed a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy degree at Andrews University in 1993.  In 2007 Becky became a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP) a treatment regime involving joint mobilization combined with movement.  She later completed a Clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy through A.T. Still University- a part of University of Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2013.  Hydrotherapy was taught in the physical program at Andrews University during her time there.  Becky’s interest in hydrotherapy was awakened with the start of COVID-19 in 2020.  During COVID, Becky and Andrew counseled others in fomentation treatments for the respiratory difficulty that COVID caused many people and they have used it on their own family when needed.  Becky currently works at NorthSound Physical Therapy in Stanwood, WA an out-patient private practice where she primarily treats patients with orthopedic conditions but also has a special interest in treating vertigo.  In her spare time Becky loves to spend time with her two daughters, running, working in the yard, Bible study, and home improvement projects.

Andrew and his wife Becky of 18 years have two daughters, Sydney and Kaya, a horse named Faithful Captain Duke (Duke for short), a dog named Bella, and a cat named Marshmallow.  As a family they enjoy the outdoors including hiking, backpacking, downhill skiing, and kayak camping.  They also enjoy learning about various aspects of country living and have a passion for sharing what they have learned with others.  In 2023 Andrew and Becky, along with friends Donn Leiske and Patti Hendrickson, developed and held their first Country Living Campmeeting which now occurs on an annual basis at the Rice family homestead in Sedro Woolley, WA.  Andrew and Becky are currently preparing for this campmeeting that will take place in late June.  They feel it is important to follow the counsel of E. G. White, to obtain a knowledge regarding Country Living and the application of simple home remedies so we can be better prepared for the time when we will have no earthly support and by God’s grace we can minister to the needs of others.
