IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO COUNT OUR BLESSINGS!
It is a joy to connect with you again. I pray that each of you are healthy and safe and had a wonderful summer, together with your beloved ones. After our Virtual Camp Meeting (VCM), I took some time off and enjoyed restful moments with my family. God provided us precious occasions as we spent time among ourselves and with Him and to be revitalized with new energy for His work. He is good!
During my vacation and after much prayer, I decided to have a new format for the Sabbath messages, which have brought us closer to each other over the last four and a half years. From now on, I plan to utilize this channel of communication on a monthly basis. By God’s grace, I am aiming to achieve three goals as I do that: to share with you news from around the Conference, allow myself to be Led by the Spirit and used by Him to bring you some words of encouragement from the Scriptures, SOP, and from uplifting spiritual stories.
In July we were blessed by the powerful messages presented to us by the speakers, musicians, and people’s real-life experiences with God during our VCM. Although this type of meeting was completely new to us, the Lord rewarded our efforts to glorify His name. Over 33,500 viewers from Canada and different parts of the world have accessed those messages which were made available during our VCM – Praise God!
Our schools went back in session with a minor drop in enrolment as the new school year began in September. This was only possible because of the hard work & necessary preparations done by the staff of each one of our schools & Office of Education, even during the summer. Our schools, besides being the second home for our children, they are also our largest and most promising missionary field! Please keep our schools in your prayers. Thank you, BC Conference educators for your dedication.
Our ABC is a miracle story. David Haluska and Johnson Noble are working hard and even sacrificially to keep that ministry afloat and be of service to our Constituency and customers. Despite the challenges caused by the cancelations of Camp Meeting and bookmobile runs, two major sources of income for the ABC, the most recent financial report (August) shows a better performance than the one achieved during last year’s same period. How could it be? God’s blessings surpass all human understanding! Thank you, David and Johnson for your vision, passion, and creativity as you humanly lead this important ministry.
In spite of the dramatic situation that COVID-19 has created, our members have “tested” the Lord (Mal. 3:10, II Cor. 9:6-7) and been faithful to Him. The BC Conference financial report for August reveals a 2.2% gain in title over the same time frame in 2019. On behalf of the BC Conference Administrative team, I sincerely thank our members for their commitment to God’s Cause. Also, a special note of appreciation to our dedicated pastors for ministering to the saints and encouraging them in their walk with the Lord during these unprecedented times.
Wow! Who would have imagined this six months ago? We serve a God of the impossible (Matt. 19:26). We ought to trust Him completely and depend on Him alone! Next month, I will share with you more of His recent miracles in our Conference.
After reflecting on all of these, I would like to invite us to place our lives in the hands of our Creator and renew our desire to love and serve Him with all our hearts (Matt. 22:37), every day. Jesus is coming soon! It is time for us to share His free salvation with all of those around us. Our Heavenly Father can hardly wait to receive His children in His kingdom to spent eternity with Him. He has given us a mission to be His ambassadors in this world and every soul who accepts Jesus as his/her Saviour is a testimony of His love and that Jesus wins! (Matt. 28:19-20)
Happy Sabbath!
In His Service,
Wesley Torres
