President's Message

Greetings! I pray that all of you and your respective families are well, by God’s grace. Although the coronavirus crisis has changed the world, it has not shaken our faith in God!

This morning I reflected on Zephaniah 3:17: “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (NIV) I consider this verse as one of the most joyful passages in the Scriptures. Here the prophet highlights how God wants to interact with His children. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he introduces our Heavenly Father being present and very personal in our lives — He is with us. This aligns with many other promises in the Bible which reveal that we are never alone (Ps. 27:1; 46:1; Isa. 43:1-3; Matt. 28:20, etc). Then, Zephaniah refers to God as a mighty warrior whose intentions are to protect and save His children — Who can confront Him? The prophet’s final words bring his point home. We serve a God Who delights in us — He “cheers” for us and desires to have an everlasting relationship with us. His love never fails, He does not rebuke but rejoices with us with singing — totally relational. Wow!

The inspiration of this message assures us that while facing challenges in life, we have a loving Father who takes the initiative to relate with us in a special way. That was the reason He sent His own Son to be our Saviour and become our closest friend — God with us(Matthew 1:23). So, we should lift our voice and sing praises to Him — He is just by our side!
