Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As we “meet” virtually as a church family across the Conference this Sabbath, I want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure all of us are eager to gather together “face to face” again to worship the Lord, soon. God is with us!
This morning, I would like to share with you one of my favourite passages in the Scriptures: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23, NIV)Jeremiah’s full confidence in God was expressed in these inspired words by the Holy Spirit and authenticated through his experience with Him. He recognized God’s amazing love for His children and that His presence in their lives brings peace even amidst challenges. While through tough times, he chose to exercise his faith and depend on God and His mercies. Jeremiah knew that the ultimate consequence of sin is destruction and he decided to trust in the Lord, His blessings, and faithfulness, daily.
Many times, we take things for granted (routine…) and may forget that God displays His love and compassion to us in a variety of ways and never failing. He renews them as gifts to us every morning. The “simple” fact that we are alive shows that every breath is a miracle from Him. I invite you today to invest time to reflect in the promises of these verses and rely solely on God’s love, grace, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness offered to us freely.
