Jesus Took My Place!
Greetings from Vancouver Island! Today, I will support and participate in a memorable event when the Victoria And Rest Haven Churches are gathering for combined Worship Services (last evening, this morning and evening) at our Lakeview School during this special weekend. It is wonderful to see our churches worshipping the Lord and working together to fulfill our mission – this is alignment!
This morning, my heart was touched by a beautiful message that prompted me to share it with you: “In Christ was united the human and the divine. His mission was to reconcile God to man, and man to God. His work was to unite the finite with the Infinite. This was the only way in which fallen men could be exalted through the merits of the blood of Christ, to be partakers of the divine nature. Taking human nature, fitted Christ to understand the nature of man’s trials, and all the temptations wherewith he is beset. Angels, who were unacquainted with sin, could not sympathize with man in his peculiar trials. Christ condescended to take man’s nature, that he might know how to succor all who should be tempted.” (EGW, The Sufferings of Christ, 4, 5)
Thank you, Jesus, for being my Saviour. (Matt. 1:21; Acts 4:12) Thank you, Father, for your willingness to send your only begotten Son to take my place. (John 3:16-17) Thank you, Holy Spirit, for softening my heart to accept grace in this amazing Plan of Salvation! (Isa. 30:21; John 14:16-18, 26)
