Greetings! After being nearly two weeks away whilst attending different meetings and boards at Burman University (BU) and the North American Division (NAD) Local Conference Presidents’ Retreat in California, I feel good to be back home – sweet home. This morning I will support the spiritual celebrations together with our students who are gathered at DLS. They came from our schools around the Conference for a volleyball tournament (this evening and tomorrow). This whole event provides them with an opportunity to make new friends and play together in a good Christian spirit. I am looking forward to rub shoulders with them during this “inspiring and energizing” occasion. Please keep our students and school personnel in your prayers!
Dr. Bruce Boyd (BU) blessed our NAD Conference Presidents group with very spiritual devotionals. In one of his inspiring messages, he referred us to one quotation that I now treasure it as a gem: “Our unity and love for one another are the credentials by which we testify to the world that God has sent His Son to save sinners.” (EGW, This Day with God, 120)
The key to discipleship and effectiveness in ministry was given to us by Jesus: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35, ESV) Yes, when we are united in love, first with God – our true source of love and unity, the natural result of that connection will become one of a genuine love and unity amongst ourselves!
Please pray for our BC Conference Board of Directors Meeting tomorrow.
In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
