The BC wildfires continue to affect people across the province. The BC Conference is committed to aiding those affected by the wildfires. We are currently working with ADRA Canada to access whatever supports are available to the people of BC. ADRA Canada will continue to closely monitor the situation to determine the extent and need for their involvement as we liaise with Ray Fankhauser, Senior National Programs Manager. Their Philanthropy and Marketing department will be activating a Major Campaign connected to all Wildfires across Canada this Summer and ADRA Canada’s Crisis Response support in rebuilding. Stay tuned for further updates from them at ADRA.ca. Brian Wahl is the ADRA BC and BC Conference Emergency Coordinator. The Seventh-day Adventist regional contact in the Kelowna area is Pastor Gerry Nessman. Bill Gerber is the Camp Hope contact for the Emergency Support Services (ESS) work in the Fraser Valley Region. The situation continues to evolve, and we are dedicated to supporting where we can.
The Emergency Support Services (ESS) and the Emergency Management BC (EMBC) is the coordinating agency for the provincial government’s emergency management activities.
