Statement by BC Conference – December 11, 2019

Dear BC Conference Constituency Family:

Last evening Elder Wesley Torres informed the BC Conference Board of Directors that he had submitted his resignation from the position of SDACC VP for Administration/Executive Secretary to Elder Mark Johnson, SDACC President.  According to him, this decision was taken after a deep soul searching and several sincere prayers to God.  He adds that he “struggled and wrestled” with the Lord for the last three months about this matter and this was probably the most difficult decision in his almost 35 years in ministry.

In his own words, “One of the two main reasons for this decision was based on personal and family needs related to this call.  Secondly, I was also having a very difficult time with the idea of leaving the BC Conference mid-term while very important projects were incomplete.  My heart was torn, and I did not find the inner peace to move forward with this call to the SDACC.  Timing was the issue that I was facing with this situation”.

The Torres family kindly thanks the BC Conference members for their continued prayers, amazing support, and for the Christian love shown to them through the years. They pray that we all continue to serve the Lord as a Team in our beautiful BC Conference.
