WE ARE NEVER ALONE!
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! I pray that you and all your beloved ones are safe and in good health, by God’s grace!
I am certain that you are not satisfied with the current condition we all are in as far as it relates to the pandemic. This appears to be a “never-ending” situation which has created so much tension, confusion, and division – at home, work, with friends, and unfortunately even in our own churches. This is not a desirable scenario! I learned from my parents a beautiful lesson for life. My wife and I try our best to pass it on to our children. The lesson is that there is always a creative solution for every situation we encounter in life, except for death. However, Jesus takes care of solving that problem created by sin that has brought suffering, tears, pain, and… death, too. He is our redeemer and sustainer!
Yes, I can most certainly say that the past year and a half has been a challenging one for all of us. We are being tested with many trials. However, there is a solution just around the corner. My heart found solace and peace in an inspired thought and promise found in the SOP. Ellen White shares a beautiful promise: “To wait patiently, to trust when everything looks dark, is the lesson that the leaders in God’s work need to learn. Heaven will not fail them in their day of adversity. Nothing is apparently more helpless, yet really more invincible, than the soul that feels its nothingness and relies wholly on God.” (PK 174)
This weekend and always, let us remember that God is in control! Whatever you may be facing, He promises that He will NOT fail us — His Word is true!
Would you please include the following in your prayers:
1 – Unity, love, grace, compassion, respect, understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness amongst God’s people during these unprecedent times!
2 – A revived missionary spirit among God’s children. When we are not working for the Lord, our enemy will find ways to get us distracted and busy with other uninspired things. A Brazilian saying states that “an idle mind is a perfect office for the devil.”
3 – A fervent spiritual revival within the “House of Israel” – leaders, lay people, children, young, and more experienced members. Yes, it is time to seriously prepare ourselves to be with our Saviour Jesus Christ. We should remember that we are “Almost Home” and we should not come alone.
4 – Our school Principals, teachers, and staff. They are under lots of extra pressure during this time. They are doing an amazing job in keeping our children safe while delivering a great Christian education to them; one that is second to none!!!
5 – The BC Conference Board of Directors Meeting tomorrow – very important decisions with several positive actions to be taken.
6 – Youth Gathering with Pastors Brian Wahl and Grant Misseghers this weekend.
7 – Please find below the link to our video for this month. Elder Mark Johnson, SDACC President, is the main presenter. It highlights a vision with a mission for this year involving the Hope Channel. The message and appeal are clear in the video. I am praying for our hearts to be touched and for us to get involved with this mission project for 2022.
Thank you for your faithful commitment to God’s Cause and His children!
Happy Sabbath!
In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
