President's Message

The Greatest Hero!

Greetings from Abbotsford – home, sweet home! I will have the privilege to share God’s Word with the Chilliwack Church family today. Please keep that vibrant congregation in your prayers!

This is a long weekend because of Remembrance Day on Monday. As we honour those who paid the ultimate price for the freedom in our nation, I pray that we take some time to reflect and be grateful for their sacrifice. Life is the greatest price that anyone can pay for their sincere, good, and honest belief and/or for a cause they have embraced –  in the context for this occasion for Canada. We should pay our respect to those heroes.

The Bible reveals the greatest hero of all times, Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us so freely and took upon Himself our sins. He never hesitated to become “our sacrifice” so that one day we could live eternally with our Heavenly Father – He volunteered Himself for that mission.

I invite you to consider all that Jesus has done for us and be bold to proclaim to everyone that He has made this salvation possible to all – His children of every nation, and tribe, and tongue, and people… Christ is the Saviour of the world! (Acts 4:12)

“When my soul is troubled and I am inclined to be depressed with a sense of the guilt of sin, then it is that I turn with a great longing for relief to Him who said that He “came to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) And under such circumstances I find renewed courage and assurance in meditating upon the exalted character and the greatness of the power of Him who offers Himself to me as my Savior.” (William Warren Prescott, The Savior of the World, 7)

Thank you, Jesus, for being my best friend ever and my beloved Saviour!

Also, please let’s pray for the upcoming retreats/training at Camp Hope:

  • Youth Retreat – this weekend
  • Marriage Enrichment (Nov 29 – Dec 1) – registration online

Please remember to promote a systematic benevolent spirit (faithfulness) in your congregations. The funds received during the last months of the year are vital to assist us to meet our Conference budget, usually 40% of the needed resources. “God loves a cheerful giver.”
(II Cor. 9:7)

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,
