Pursuing His Promises!
Greetings from Columbia, MD! I am participating in the NAD Yearend Meeting (YEM), which started in the beginning of this week and will conclude on Tuesday, Nov 5. The theme for this year’s YEM is Pursuing His Promises – very spiritual. Please pray for our leaders and the amazing ministries happening in our Division, Unions, Conferences, and local Churches!
This morning I read some
inspiring words and I would like to share them with you: “To each one of us
has been given the inestimable privilege of being a child of God.
Why, then, should we be unhappy? We are all sinful, but we have a Saviour who
can take away our sins; for in him is no sin. We all have many difficulties to
meet, many perplexing problems to solve. But we have an all-powerful Helper, who
will listen to our requests as willingly and gladly as he listened to the
requests of those who, when he was on this earth in person, came to him for
help. I ask you not to take the ordering of your life out of his hands.
“When discouragement presses heavily upon you, read the following scriptures:
My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?. . . Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy water-spouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the Lord will command his loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Why art thou cast down, O my soul; and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death…’” (EGW, RH, April 7, 1904)
This is so sweet to trust in Jesus and in His promises!
Thank you for your dedicated work for the Lord and His Cause during this year, which is coming to an end. Usually, about 40% of our Conference’s budget depends on the tithes and offerings received during the last 3 months of the year. We currently have a negative figure when compared to the same period of last year. We kindly ask you to pray for this matter and share God’s promises with His people in our congregations. Please, claim His promises and encourage our members in their faithfulness to God! We can depend on Him & His people are generous.
Also, please let’s pray for the upcoming retreats/training at Camp Hope (registration online):
- Youth Retreat – next weekend (Nov 8-10)
- Marriage Enrichment (Nov 29 – Dec 1)
Happy Sabbath!
In His Service,
