What God Has Wrought!

Greetings from Abbotsford - home, sweet home! After a series of meetings at the NAD this week, I arrived back in BC on Thursday evening and was ready to go to Kamloops yesterday. Unfortunately, the deteriorating weather conditions prevented me from driving through the mountains as my 4x4 is currently in the garage for some repairs and it was not ready yesterday. Then, I could not find any 4x4 available to rent. Pastor Masigan and the Kamloops Church leaders supported that it was not advisable to make the risky driving. Then, in contact with Pastor Tim Nagy, he expressed the need for some emergency help and I will be of service to the Mount Hope Church today. God is good!

Last Sunday we had an amazing K-12 Board. It was encouraging to witness how God is blessing our schools. Please find below some highlights and plans for the 2018-2019 school year:

1 – DLS has a list of 51 applications for Kindergarten (2018-2019), for a class of 20 students.

2 – OCS (former OKAA) has over 100 students this year and good plans to expand even more next year.

3 – FVAA has reached capacity level and is working on a plan to serve its students even better.

4 – Things look bright at LCS (Victoria) and PVCA (Vernon) as the perspective for 2019 is for an increase of over 50% on their current enrolment.

5 – RVJA (McBride) needs to hire another teacher to cope with their growth.

6 – The above is also true for PVCA, FVAA, BCAS (Bella Coola), and CACS (Chilliwack).

7 – All our schools are performing well and their excellent environment and teaching have gained significant consideration and respect of their local communities. After all, they were designed by God!

8 – The BC Conference will assist all our schools to acquire the Encounter Bible Curriculum kit for the 2018-2019 school year. Spirituality is a top priority in our schools!

“True education means more than the perusal of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” EGW, Education, 13.

Let’s keep our School Principals, Teachers, Staff, Office of Education (BC and SDACC), and especially our Students in our prayers. Also, let’s pray for NOJA’s Constituency Meeting (Armstrong) this evening. Our schools are very precious mission fields in the BC Conference!
