Presidential Blessing: December 23, 2017
Peace, Hope, and Love!
Greetings! Today is the second last Sabbath of 2017 and we are just hours away of Christmas Eve. We do not celebrate Christmas as most Christian churches do. However, we praise God for the event, not the date, that Jesus came to this world as an innocent baby, lived a humble life of service, and died for us and in our place to save us from our sins and give us eternal life (Matt. 1:21, 23; John 3:16-17). Even those who do not believe in Jesus cannot deny the historical Jesus, the fact that He lived among people on earth. Nonetheless, His free redemption can only be experienced by those who accept Him as their personal Savior.
This week, I received a lovely Christmas card with beautiful and profound words. It reads:
In the spirit of Christmas which is Peace,
The miracle of Christmas which is Hope,
And the heart of Christmas which is Love.”
Isn’t that the message that Christ personifies? He generates an amazing joy in the lives of His children, which brings them peace through His spirit of care. He is God’s miracle that sparks hope to those who are feeling confused, rejected, lonely, and lost. Finally, His heart is in the heavenly mission of transforming lives through His love.
Because He lives we have peace, hope, and love in and through Him (I Cor. 13:13; Eph. 2:14).
Christmas is also a time to make new friends… This week, I met Mrs. Kay Trussell, who taught in our Chilliwack and Hazelton Schools many years ago. She asked me to send her love and best wishes to all her friends in the BC Conference.

May God bless you & your family richly during this festive season!
Happy Sabbath!
