Presidential Blessing: October 7, 2017
.
Greetings from Abbotsford – home, sweet home. Today, I will worship God as an ordinary member with my family. I also need to be spiritually fed and I am sure the Lord will use the SS teacher and preacher at church to present messages that will bring me & all His children closer to Him. This evening, I will be heading south to the GC Annual Council. Please pray for the meetings there at the GC building. God’s church leaders around the world are gathered for important decisions. God is in control!

This morning my heart was impressed to continue the message related to the topic of Stewardship. Last Sabbath, we introduced the four T’s of stewardship: Temple, Time, Talents and Treasures. Let’s expand on the first two of them today.

Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 6:19-20). It means that God desires to abide in us and consequently we ought to treat our body with dignity and respect. It is a dishonor to God when we do not use the natural remedies to protect and promote health on this sacred gift entrusted to us. We were created to reflect God’s image (Gen. 1:27) witnessing for Him through the way we care for our body physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Stewardship is to honor God in our body (Rom 12:1).

God expects us to administer Time responsibly considering family, work, recreation, hobbies, and specially the allocation of time to worship and serve Him in a balanced way. The abuse and unbalanced use of time in one aspect of life will sacrifice the development of the others. God has given to all His children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, usually 30 and 365 days monthly and yearly, respectively. Time is uniform for everyone. The difference is how we make use of it. Christians should live to worship God! Sabbath was created as a special time sign between God and His children (Eze. 20:20), however we should glorify Him every moment (Luke 24:53). A life well lived is one when God is first! Stewardship is praising God through the gift of time. Next week we will talk about the Talents and Treasures.

Please, pray for the upcoming Retreats at Camp Hope (online registration available on our website):
