Presidential Blessing: September 16, 2017
Greetings from the beautiful Okanagan Valley! This morning I will worship God, together with the Penticton Church family, and share His Word with them while Phil Hudema, Education Superintendent, will preach at the Oliver Church. Then, we will close the Sabbath before having a Business Meeting with the Oliver Church this evening. Kent Rusk, Associate Education Superintendent, will present a short devotional as we begin the new week. Alignment is a key word. Please keep us in your prayers!

It has been a while since I shared some thoughts about stewardship with you. This morning, I woke up impressed to send you a few words to express my appreciation, on behalf of the BC Conference, for your faithfulness in leading God’s people to worship Him. Worship is our adoration of God in a complete surrender to Him with the spirit of gratitude for Whom He is, what He has done for us, and His presence in our lives. Then, we realize – isn’t that what true stewardship is all about? When we fully surrender ourselves to God (Rom. 12:1-2), we humbly recognize some important things in our lives and around us: He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Being in the whole universe, has formed and shaped us with His own hands, has purposely placed everything on its position, according with His wisdom, and He is not limited by time – He is Eternal! Consequentially, our response to Him becomes one of gratitude, as stated in the beautiful hymns I Surrender All and Take My Life and Let It Be… However, this can only happen when it comes from our heart! We will continue this topic next week!

Please pray for the following events at Camp Hope:
  • It Is Written Partnership this weekend
  • Native Ministries Training, starting tomorrow through Thursday
  • Health Share Weekend, from Thursday to Sunday (next week)
  • (Please check the online registration on our website)

God has amazing blessings reserved for all of us, His children - always!

Happy Sabbath!
In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
