Presidential Blessing: April 29, 2017
.
Greetings from Vitoria, ES, Brazil. Tomorrow, I will officiate the wedding of one of my nieces. It is a privilege to participate in this ceremony of a beloved one and be reminded of God’s plan for His children.

Matrimony is one of the two institutions blessed by God right in the beginning of the human race. God “married” Adam and Eve as he joined them together. He blessed and gave them the Sabbath day as a reminder of His plan for humanity. Marriage (family) and Sabbath were blessed by God in the Garden of Eden and they are still holy and blessed by Him, today. These institutions have the seal of approval of a Creator and Caring Father, Who desires His children to live a happy and stable life as well as reminders that we belong to Him (Gen 1: 27-28; 2:1-3). We have a Divine origin -- we are not a product of chance that “originated” without any purpose, but merely as consequences of unplanned and non-designed eruptions. NO!!! Completely the opposite -- we are God’s children. Our Father is the Creator Who designed us with His own hands, life has a purpose, and He has a plan for all of us! The Sabbath day confirms this message (Ex. 20:8-11).

As we celebrate this Sabbath day today, I would like to show my appreciation for God’s family in the BC Conference. We are brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of our different human nationalities, backgrounds, color of skin, gender, etc. We celebrate the rich diversity that exists among us. We are His family! This diversity reminds us that we serve a God Who accepts us just the way we are with the assurance that He has a purpose for our lives -- to make us better people as He transforms our human nature that was temporarily tainted by an intruder called sin. He has also commissioned us to carry this message forward as His Ambassadors. God has promised that sin will be finally destroyed (Rev 21:3-5) and that He will give us the possession of His original plan -- eternal life. That is the reason why Jesus came to die in our place.

Family is our greatest asset on this side of God’s universe. Jesus values families. He began His public ministry during a wedding ceremony (John 2:1-11) and He desires that every couple and family enjoy His presence in their homes. God’s plan is for all family members to enjoy an atmosphere of a relationship of love, peace, respect, unity, and responsibility among themselves at home (Eph. 5:22-31; 6:1-4).

My prayer today is for every family in our BC Conference, particularly yours (and mine) as leaders in His Cause. I also pray that our Sabbath worship experience with the Lord should be an uplifting and blessed one today. I especially pray that very soon we will be able to celebrate the wedding of the Lamb with His church (us) (Rev. 19:6-7).

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,
