Greetings from Osoyoos! Today, Ern Brake and I will be of service to the Osoyoos and Oliver Churches, respectively. This morning, we will share God’s Word with those church families and have a short spiritual activity with them - early afternoon. Then, this evening we will meet with the Kootenays’ Pastoral District for a visioning session with them in Trail. Please pray for these two Pastoral Districts this Sabbath!

Pastor Brake and I had an interesting experience as we drove here yesterday. The misty weather in Abbotsford turned into a short and soft fall of snow flakes in the Princeton Hwy. Then, we enjoyed a beautiful sunshine while driving through the valley just before reaching Keremeos. After that, we drove through some rain drops as we approached Osoyoos. All of this happened during a time span of about 3.5 hours – amazing. This morning, I remembered that Bible verse: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven… (Eccl. 3:1 ESV). This was followed by the one that says: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isa. 40:8 NASB). Worth of noticing is what God declares about “changes” when compared to His ultimate purposes with them: “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isa. 55:10-11 ESV).

I felt fascinated as I witnessed the sudden changes in the weather during my driving trip yesterday. However, God’s promises make my heart rejoice every moment because they are directly connected to His desire to make a complete transformation in our lives. He promises that His Word will not return to Him empty – every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God has a prosperous course. The beauty of all of this: It is intended to reach and bring us free salvation in Him – we are God’s trophies.

Please let us pray for:

  1. God’s Word to always find a special place in our hearts.
  2. The evangelistic campaigns of the following churches: Cornerstone – concluding this weekend; Richlands (Cherryville) started last evening & Chilliwack – starting next weekend.
  3. he Local Church Elders’ Training on April 21-23 (attachment).

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
