Presidential Blessing: January 21, 2017
First of all, I would like to wish a very Happy and Blessed New Year to all of those I have not met with this year, yet.

We had a very spiritual and practical Workers’ Meeting at Camp Hope during this week. Dr. Joe Kidder brought us before God’s throne of grace… Kevin Boonstra helped us tremendously how to respect and deal wisely with the civil law, Vilma Reynolds (ARM) assisted us how to be caring and judicious in protecting our children, seniors, each other, as well as our organization’s assets. At the end, our Communion Service highlighted the importance of coming to the foot of the cross in humility and departing from there to be of service to humanity, as we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. God blessed us immensely! Thank you for all who came and for the amazing cordial spirit that reigned amongst us. We are a Team!
We also praised God for the 221 souls who gave their hearts to Jesus and joined our BC Conference Churches through baptism and profession of faith last year. Actually, the correct figure would be 222, as one more baptismal form came after we had closed the statistical report… Each person is of utmost value for Christ. “In comparison with the worth of one soul, the whole world sinks into significance.”6T, 614. Many more who were introduced to Jesus in 2016 will still make their decision in the future. Thank you for your hard and dedicated work and for your passion for reaching people for God’s Kingdom! Now, it is time to love those new believers, nurture them spiritually, and involve them in the ministry of reaching others for Christ!

We were also blessed by the faithfulness of God’s people in our Conference. We experienced a 4.63% tithe gain in 2016 when compared with 2015. God is good! We all prayed for this much needed increase to continue to do ministries for Him. Thank you for your fidelity and commitment to God’s Cause! Please, never stop leading by example and preaching about Stewardship - all of its full experience with God. This is a matter of salvation because “…where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”Matt. 6:21 (NIV).
For 2017, we shared the vision and have challenged each of us to prayerfully set our motivational church’s growth goals. Let us continue to pray and work together to reach even more people -333 souls for God’s Kingdom in 2017. Please work with your local church leaders and send us your suggestive goal by January 30 so that we can start the year encouraging and praying for each other.

I attended the Church in the Valley last evening. Lee Venden is conducting some wonderful Revival Meetings there. He shared with the congregation the blessings of the ministry and companionship of the Holy Spirit - He is our Friend, Counsellor, Protection, Teacher, Guide, and He will also remind us of what to say when witnessing for Christ. (John 14:16, 17, 26). We cannot and will not be effective in ministering to people if we are not connected with God’s Holy Spirit – “not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”Zac. 4:6 (NASV).
May God be with all of us as we worship Him “in Spirit and truth” and share His love with His people today.
Happy Sabbath!
In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
