Presidential Blessing: Dec 31

Greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Today, Angela and I are celebrating our 29th Wedding Anniversary. God has been good to us!

Today is the last day of 2016. I just thought of sending a message to express my gratitude for the privilege to serve you as the human leader of the BC Conference – Chief Servant. It has been exactly ten months since I began serving our Constituency in this capacity. I feel honoured, privileged, and appreciative of the confidence that was deposited in me. However, I still feel unprepared to fulfilled this huge task. That is why I continue to request your prayers for God’s wisdom, presence, humility, and courage in order to be used by Him, for His glory. Jesus Christ is the President of the BC Conference!

Since March 1, I have been sending a weekly message to keep an open channel of communication with all of you, who are the frontline leaders of our Conference. This exercise has blessed me spiritually. I usually wake up at 5:00 am every Sabbath morning (wherever I am) to pray and ask the Lord to give me a message to share with you on that day. I also feel blessed by knowing that somehow someone has received a blessing through those messages. However, a few hours/days later when I assess the messages again I find some “overlooked grammatical mistakes” that were not corrected before sending them to you each Sabbath by 7:15 am, unless I face technical challenges. Please, forgive me. I type and prepare each message every Sabbath morning and many times I have no time to go over it and make those corrections. Nonetheless, they are fresh as they come out of my heart & have only one purpose: To uplift the name of Jesus and encourage you in your ministry for Him.

Why am I saying all of these? Usually speaking people make their new year’s resolution during this time of the year. Then, I take this opportunity to renew my desire to love and serve the Lord as well as His people throughout the new year and my life. I also invite you to make this resolution today. (Joshua 24:14-15) Thank you for being part of our BC Conference Team and for all that you do to grow God’s Kingdom where He has planted you!

I pray for each of you and your families, together with my dear fellow officers, and we wish all of you a Happy and Blessed New Year – one filled with many victories in Christ, much health, love, peace, joy, and an amazing assurance of salvation in Jesus! (II Cor. 13:14) We appreciate your commitment for His Cause and thank God, together with you, “that He considered me [us] trustworthy, appointing me [us] to His service.”I Tim. 1:12 NIV.

Notes:
  1. Today is the last day of our 2016 120 Days of Prayer and Working Together to Reach 150 Souls for Christ in our Conference. I pray that your congregation was blessed during this spiritual endeavour.
  2. Our 2017 calendar of events, training, and equipping of the laity will be presented during our Workers’ Meeting in January. We intend to involve all local church leaders & train them to train others for soul winning. Please dedicate a special moment in prayer during the worship services on January 7 & 14, 2017 – for REACH OUT!
  3. Today is the last Sabbath of 2016. Please encourage God’s people to faithfully return His tithes and offerings to His storehouse – more than 20% of our Conference’s budget depends on what is received during this month. God is good, “His compassions never fail… great is His faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23.
  4. The Sabbath messages will be back in mid January 2017, God willing.

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,
Wesley Torres, D.Min.
