Kettle Valley Vacation Bible School
From August 15 to 19, the Kettle Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church conducted another successful Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the Kettle Wildlife Association facility.  There were 18 children that participated in the program with a number of young people assisting.  The children explored “Kidsville”, with a focus on crafts, games and Bible lessons from Dr. Luke’s gospel.  The Bible lessons included Jesus inviting the children to come to Him, the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus quieting the storm on the Sea of Galilee, and Jesus’ acceptance and forgiveness of Mary of Magdela and Zacchaeus.  Throughout these lessons, the children learned that Jesus accepts them, cares for them, is with them, forgives them and believes in them.   So therefore, we are to accept each other, care for one another, stick up for each other, forgive and believe in each other.  In craft time, the older children sanded and glued wood pieces to make a wall shelf, and then designed and painted a picture on it.  The younger children made wall plaques on tiles.  On the last day of VBS, they also baked some healthy cinnamon rolls.  The week was closed off with a program for the parents and a supper together. We all look forward to another VBS during the summer of 2017!
