Presidential Blessing: Dec 3
.

Greetings from Abbotsford, home sweet home! This morning I will have the privilege to visit the Westminster Church to introduce Pastor Kelber Mazur and his wife Monique as their Youth Pastor and also the Pastor for our Spanish Church families. Please keep this young couple in your prayers as they began their ministry with us. In the afternoon, Pastor Brake and I will attend a spiritual meeting with our Open Door congregation in Abbotsford and the Let’s Move Vancouver meeting in Surrey this evening.

Last evening, I attended the Let’s Move Vancouver meeting with Ty Gibson. Ty presented an amazing message to the target audience (actually, to all of us) as he began his Reimagining God series. He brought scientific and spiritual evidences of God’s love and that He created us to enjoy, live, and share that gift in order to exist and be happy. We noticed that the attendance could have been better, though. We kindly request each of you, as church leaders, to motivate your members to come and invite their friends and family to hear those message. Ty will certainly continue to bring his deep and relevant messages to a good conclusion during this weekend (tonight and tomorrow evening). Please keep this evangelistic effort in your prayers!

This week was a very busy one! I thought of sharing some important developments with you:

Pastor Tom Glatts began his ministry as the BC Conference Ministerial Director on Thursday, Dec 1. We are happy to have him with us. Please pray for his ministry for our Ministerial Team!

The printing of our first quarterly REACH magazine was concluded. A special note of thanks to Karen Hemrich who worked so hard to accomplish this project. It has already been mailed to every congregation and school in our Conference and you should receive it early next week. Please place it in hands of our members. It will also be available on our website.

We had a good “family outing” with our Camp Hope personnel. We are blessed by their dedicated work for God’s Cause!

Several meetings are scheduled for next week: Personnel, ADCOM, and Search Committees; Church Boards; 33689 King Road Conference property contracted buyers; Education Executive, etc. Please pray for the decisions and recommendations of these Boards and Committees.

The BC Conference Board of Directors (BOD) will meet on Thursday (Dec 8). We kindly request your prayers for the important decisions to be made during this last BOD meeting of the year.

Next Sabbath’s offering is for the Ministries of Compassion & Community Services projects of our Conference and local churches. Please promote generosity in your congregations toward these ministries.

We would like to request you to remind and encourage your congregations of their faithful commitment to God’s Cause in the BC Conference.More than 20% of the Conference’s budget depends on what is received in tithe and offerings in December. However, 100% of God’s faithfulness is offered to us - all year around! (II Tim. 2:11-13)

Prov. 3:3-7 came to my mind and these Bible verses strongly impressed me this morning. “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV)

I do not need to expand on the inspired words of the wise man. Salomon talks about love, faithfulness, commitment, a reputable name, trust in God alone, submission to His Will. It is amazing - God never requests anything from us that is not preceded or followed by a blessing! It is not different in this Bible text: “He will make your paths straight!” (v.7) Let this message permeate our hearts and encourage us to be faithful to Him, always! Also, let us pray for God’s blessings on His people as we all come to worship Him as His family today.

Note: Four more weeks are left until December 31. Let us continue to Pray and Work Together to Reach 150 Souls during these 120 Days (Sept 3-Dec 31).

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,

Wesley Torres, D.Min.
