Greetings from Kamloops! I will be of service to the Kamloops Church family and am looking forward to this visit and interaction with them today.

Wonderful things are happening in our Conference. Just to mention a couple: Yesterday, I visited Camp Hope where two spiritual retreats are taking place this weekend. A Youth Retreat is in progress in the Youth Conference Centre since Thursday evening. Pastor Mike Stevenson (welcome back) is the guest speaker and there are over 70 vibrant young people participating in this spiritual event. This afternoon they will study our 28 Fundamental beliefs – amazing! In the Main Lodge, the Fisherman’s (and Fisherwoman’s) Retreat and Reunion was just starting. I could feel the excitement as members & families were coming from different places for this spiritual gathering. Pastor Bert Williams, former BC Conference pastor & teacher is the speaker for the weekend. Please keep these two spiritual retreats in your prayers today. Thank God forCamp Hope – the BC Conference Sanctuary! Thank you Camp Hope Staff and Volunteers, also at the youth camp, for all that you do!

I would like to tell you a very touching experience that was shared with me this week. A good friend of mine told me about a decision he made in the beginning of this year - he decided to be more meticulous and intentional in returning the Lord’s tithe every month, faithfully. According to him, he was being faithful before but was putting off getting the tithe into “the storehouse,” sometimes until the end of the year. In the past years he even had to use some money from his line of credit to “clear his account with the Lord.” Then, he added that he was tired of that and promised to the Lord that His money would be returned to Him every month, by faith. He was exuberant to disclose that he does not know how, but he never ended a month with an overdraft since and even some previous debts are on the way to be fully paid. This is wonderful! God is good and faithful – one just needs to place his/her faith in Him, completely!

No wonder God has promised in His Word: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts,’ if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”Mal. 3:10 (NASB). This is a perfect example of how God treats His children: Everything that He asks of us is followed or even preceded by a blessing. Paul, inspired by God, wrote: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” II Cor. 9:7 (ESB).

On another occasion I will also share with you some of my experiences with the Lord in connection with this subject. However, for now, I would encourage that brother and all of us to remain faithful to God. We return to Him what is His not to be blessed, but because He has already blessed us! Please, never be shy to share, study, and preach on this topic in your congregations - this is a spiritual matter. Please inspire and motivate them to be faithful and trust in God, always.

Please remember: 120 days of Prayer and Working Together to Reach 150 Souls for God’s Kingdom in the BC Conference by December 31.

Happy Sabbath!

In His Service,
