Dear Pastors –

I need to share with you an announcement that I shared just recently with Elder Mark Johnson, the Presidents across Canada, the BC Conference Office Staff, and the BC Conference Board of Directors. Both Sylvia and I will be retiring the end of February 2016. We have been wrestling with this decision for the past 6 months and after careful consideration and much prayer we feel God leading us in this direction. This November I will be turning 66 and to be honest I just don't have the physical energy and stamina it takes to deal with all the challenges and travel that comes with being a President. With that being said, I need you to know I have been blessed beyond measure for having had the privilege to work with each of you. This is from my heart – I am a much better person for having known and worked with each of you.

Much of the next two months I will be travelling east to attend the North American Division Year End meetings as well as the SDACC Year End meetings in Oshawa. Also, between now and December I am going to try to take a couple of weeks of vacation. January is going to be a very busy month with BC Conference Workers Meetings at Camp Hope, Burman University Board of Trustees, and our BC Conference Board of Directors. February I will attend my last North American Division President's Council and finish off with vacation time which I will carry over from 2015.

Elder Mark Johnson is planning on attending the December 6 Board of Directors in Abbotsford to officially begin the process of choosing a new President. However, I am sure that unofficially he has already began gathering names of potential candidates. I am requesting that you keep Mark and your Conference Board of Directors in your prayers. Please feel free to share your suggestions for President with any member of the BC Conference Board – you may request their names and contact information from Mary Pillai.

Once again, thank you for the privilege you have given me to serve you as your President. Since arriving in this Conference in 2008 each day the journey has just gotten better and better. You all are amazing fellow workers and I am proud to call each of you my friend. To God be the glory great things He has done!

You are in my thoughts and prayers - many blessings as you prepare for the coming Sabbath. Feel free to share this information with your church family – Sylvia and I do solicit your prayers!

In Christ Alone,

Wayne Culmore, President
