To better connect their church with their community, the Westbank Seventh-day Adventist Church, near Kelowna, British Columbia, decided on a Family Fun Day event.

This occasion featured a variety of booths from the community and from the church such as: Okanagan Adventist Academy, as well as the upcoming Vacation Bible School. Thanks to some of the sponsors, a face paint lady and a balloon figurine gentleman were popular features. The face painting and the balloons were given to the children at no charge.

There were two inflatable playgrounds for the children to enjoy. One was a huge castle and as the young ones climbed in, the excitement expanded. A pancake breakfast and hotdog lunch was offered; participants received this with a donation. Over 20 people signed up for the yard sale, and over 500 people attended the event.

All kinds of advertising methods were used so that the community would know about this feature. These included big signs in front of the church, radio stations, and flyers. SUN FM broadcast from the parking lot where the event took place.

The team, from the church, that organized this event, included Michelle Eaton, Randy Lemky, and Pastor Roger Esteves.
