New Ministerial Director

Dr. Kumar Dixit has accepted the position of Ministerial Director in the British Columbia Conference. His focus will be on mentoring and training the 18 young pastors who are on the ordination track in the Conference. In addition, Dixit will oversee the young adult ministry of the conference by working with local churches in developing new methods to keep their young people in the church. Dixit follows Dr. Ern Brake who accepted the position as Assistant to the President of Reach. Dixit recently co-authored a study for the North American Division on attracting and retaining Millennials in the local church. The study will be published in the NAD Ministerial Called Digital Magazine, and in the special General Conference edition of Ministry Magazine.

In addition to serving in the Conference, He will remain serving as the Senior Pastor of Oakridge Adventist Church in Vancouver. “I think it is important to practice ministry if I am going to be training and mentoring other pastors,” he explained, “the most important place for ministry is the local church, and I want to provide support to every pastor who is serving in this capacity.”

Dixit has spent most of his professional ministry in the United States. He has been a University Chaplain, and served on the pastoral team of a church that group from 250-700 in attendance. He earned his doctorate from Wesley Theological Seminary, and has authored two books, and dozens of magazine articles.
