The BC Conference Board of Directors (BOD) met on Sunday, October 19, 2014. We are happy to share with you some of the important decisions taken during that meeting:

1 – Wayne Culmore presented a very encouraging President’s report. He showed the direction that the Conference is going with the REACH Strategic Initiative and the positive things that are happening around the Conference. Wayne also shared some highlights of the General Conference Annual Council. At the end of his report he invited the BOD members to have a season of prayer for the SDA Church in BC, Canada, and worldwide.

2 – The BOD voted to receive the Treasury report presented by Michael Wixwat, BC Conference Treasurer, showing a 2.69% tithe gain when compared to the same period last year. Praise God for the faithfulness of His children in our Conference!

3 – The BOD voted to receive the report presented by Wesley Torres, BC Conference Executive Secretary. The baptismal statistics show that by the end of the third quarter of this year we are just above the results for the first quarter of 2012 alone--124 to 119 baptisms. Also, during that same period of time, we had baptized 242 and 152 baptisms in 2012 & 2013, respectively. The trend is that during the last quarter of the year we experience the best result for baptisms. With this in mind, we would like to encourage you to prioritize working closely with your church visitors, interest & Bible studies’ lists before the end of this 2014 year. May the Lord guide, use, inspire and bless you as you minister and assist those children of His in their decision for Jesus, too!

4 – The BOD voted to receive the ABC report showing a good improvement compared to the same period last year.

5 – It was voted to approve the SDACC Loan Application of the Vernon Church for the renovations & improvements in their Church.

6 – The BOD voted to list the 33689 King Road portion of the current BC Conference Office property – nearly 2 acres. Funds from the sale of 33689 King Road are to be used for the building of a new Conference Office.

7 – Pastor Daniel Stojanovic, SDACC Secretary presented positive statistical figures about the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada and worldwide, too.

On behalf of the Administrative team of the BC Conference, I would like to thank you for your commitment and dedication to God’s Cause and encourage you to continue to serve Him, faithfully!

2014 Summer Camp Decision Cards: I sent some of you by mail a package with “My Decision for Jesus” cards filled by a number of children & youth during this past 2014 Summer Camps. There were 141 potential candidates for baptisms among them. I have received some positive feedback from a number of pastors about their follow-up plan with those children & youth. Actually, there will be a baptism at the Oakridge Church this coming Sabbath as a result of the Blind Camp, Praise God! Please, keep me informed about those names and the steps you are taking to minister to those children, youth and their families. I am confident that you will be making a positive impression in their hearts by following up & showing interest with their decision. If by any chance some of those cards are from children & youth who are not from an Adventist family & background, what a precious opportunity to connect with them! I am convinced that God can use you to make a positive impact in those lives, too! The BC Conference staff is praying for you in the frontline!

Yours in His Service, Wesley Torres, VP for Administration
