Legacy - Each of us will leave one. What will be my legacy? How will I be remembered?

Knowing how you want to be remembered will dictate how you live your life today. I challenge you to consider and incorporate some or all of the following ways we can leave a legacy.

Legacy – Each of us will leave one. What will be my legacy? How will I be remembered? Knowing how you want to be remembered will dictate how you live your life today. I challenge you to consider and incorporate some or all of the following ways we can leave a legacy.

A Legacy of Excellence – When you strive for excellence, it inspires excellence in others. Like it or not, we serve as role models for our children, friends and colleagues. It only takes one person in pursuit of excellence to raise the standards and behaviours of everyone around us.

A Legacy of Encouragement – By every word and action, we either lift up or bring down others. What do you want people to remember about you 20, 30 or 50 years from now? Do you want them to remember you as an encouraging friend or a negative influence? Who can you encourage today? Be the person that someone calls years from now to say, “Thank you, I couldn’t have done it without you.” “Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

A Legacy of Purpose – People are most energized when they are using their strengths and talents for a purpose beyond themselves.

“… the effort to bless others will react in blessings upon ourselves. This was the purpose of God in giving us a part to act in the plan of redemption. He has granted men the privilege of becoming partakers of the divine nature and, in their turn, of diffusing blessings to their fellow men. This is the highest honor, the greatest joy …” Steps to Christ, pg 79

A Legacy of Love – Who has cultivated a desire to love Christ and others? When I ask this question of myself, I think about my mom. She unconditionally loves me and taught me about the love of Christ. She has given me a legacy of love that I now share with others. Share a legacy of love and it will embrace generations to come. “Love to Jesus will be manifested in a desire to work as He worked for the blessing and uplifting of humanity. It will lead to love, tenderness, and sympathy toward all the creatures of our heavenly Father’s care.” Steps to Christ, pg 78-79

A Legacy of a Planned Gift – Our goal is to R.E.A.C.H. British Columbia and the Yukon with a Christ-centered message of hope and wholeness. A gift in your memory makes a significant contribution to the future sustainability of the programs you value most.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss ways you can leave a legacy.
