Former BC Conference employee for 15 years (April '95 - Dec 2010), Frank McMiller, has informed us that his mother passed away Friday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 pm, 3 weeks short of her 90th birthday.

Frank moved his faithful Adventist parents from Swift Current, SK to Abbotsford in October 2010.

Both of them were showing sings of onset dementia and were both quite non-ambulatory. Three weeks after the move, Leland contracted pneumonia and died in hospital. Lola suffered from acute osteoarthritis and was forced to take up residence in Maplewood House of Abbotsford from Jan. 1, 2011 to the present.

Although meaningful dialogue steadily waned over the last three years, Frank says he is delighted God gave opportunity for he and mom to be close. He was present with her, when after 4 days of no eating or drinking, only sleeping, she opened her eyes to acknowledge him singing and praying with her, then took a last breath to fall asleep in Jesus.

Her long life was filled with faith planted in her early adult years by the Voice of Prophecy preaching of HMS Richards and the singing of the King's Heralds Quartet and Del Delker.  For her it will be a snap of the fingers to see her looking into the face of Jesus at his return.

A memorial service will take place at Mission Seventh-day Adventist Church (33522 7th Ave.) on Sabbath, March 8, 1:00 pm.
