Presidential Blessing: June 23, 2018
Congratulations to our Graduates!
Greetings from Port Hardy! Today, I will be of service to our Gwasa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Church family for a special “Thanksgiving Service”. We will praise the Lord for answering our prayers and opening the doors for Valoaga Siatunu’u to come and be the pastor of our First Nation Church. God is good.
On Thursday evening, I attended my youngest son’s 8th grade graduation at FVAA. It seems like it was yesterday that he was born but my “little buddy” is now a young man…  He has concluded his elementary education and will be going to high school next year. Time flies! I felt proud of my son and noticed that all the parents and grandparents of the other graduates also felt the same for their beloved graduates.

This is graduation season in our Adventist Schools in the Conference. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all graduates from our BC Conference Schools and those who have already graduated from College and University elsewhere this year. Some have completed their education while others still have some more years of studies ahead of them. Regardless, our beloved graduates have achieved a milestone in their life. The motto for the 2018 Elementary Class at FVAA was a quote from Dr. Theodor Seuss: “The more you read the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go.” Yes, he was right! Learning opens up new dimensions in one’s life. Then, the more experience and knowledge one acquires, he/she will be more and more recognized and will keep reaching higher places.

I thank God on behalf of our BC Conference for all our graduates. I pray that they will continue to reach higher levels in their education, but never forgetting to have a learning spirit and remembering that God should be the center of their learning. He alone is the source of true and lasting wisdom (Prov. 2:6-8; James 1:5)I thank our Heavenly Father for our committed and inspiring teachers in our schools. They dedicate their lives to teach our children with Christian values. Also, thank you parents and grandparents for encouraging and supporting your children to prepare themselves to be a blessing in society as they exercise a positive influence and service to others, in preparation for the world to come. “The schools of the prophets were founded by Samuel, to serve as a barrier against the wide-spread corruption, to provide for the moral and spiritual welfare of the youth, and to promote the future prosperity of the nation by furnishing it with men qualified to act in the fear of God as leaders and counselors.” EGW, PP, 593.

Please acknowledge and congratulate our graduates in our congregations! May God bless our graduates, parents and grandparents, teachers, and BC Conference schools.

Please pray for:
1 - Youth & SAGE Retreat, at Camp Hope, starting tomorrow.
