Presidential Blessing: April 28, 2018
God of All Seasons!
Greetings from Burman University (BU), Lacombe, AB! I have been here since Thursday to attend some BU Committees & Board of Trustees meetings and the graduation ceremony tomorrow. This year, 80 BU graduates will march on their graduation ceremony - To God be the glory! BU is in excellent shape and the environment is a very positive one - spiritually, academically, and socially. I invite you to pray with me for BU and especially for the 2018 graduates, on this very special moment in the lives of those young people.
I was here in January this year. The weather was not pleasant and I had a scary experience. On the last day of the BU Board of Trustees meetings (Sunday), I parked the car and start to walk quickly to the meeting. I mistakenly left behind my scarf and gloves. By the time I reached half of the way to the designated room for the meeting, I felt the pain of the cold weather “going through my bones”. I pushed on and arrived at my destination literally “frozen” and speechless just to realize my stupidity by not having the proper gear on. Shortly after, I discovered that the temperature was below 39°C with the wind chill. I should have taken a better care of myself! However, this weekend the weather has been amazing - tropical summer time.
This morning, I thought came to my mind. After the flood, God promised in His Word that “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Gen. 8:22 (ESV). More than that, He placed the rainbow in the sky as a sign of His covenant with humanity. Wow! What an amazing God we serve! My visits to BU, just three months apart, confirm that promise of God. The land was covered with snow and the weather was cold… Now, the land is already becoming green and the temperature is enjoyable. God always fulfills His promises! We should place our lives in our loving Father’s hands of love and care and trust in Him, every moment!
